Michael Kline is a lifelong artist, educator, and craftsman whose work is rooted in the belief that creativity is essential to human well-being. His journey has been guided by both artistic practice and contemplative living.

From 1989-1996, Michael lived at Plum Village, the Buddhist monastery of the late Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh in France, immersed in the practice of mindful living. This time and the ensuing years of ongoing spiritual exploration continue to inform the way he approaches art, teaching, and life—with presence and attention.

Michael believes that the creative process is not about artistic talent or producing a perfect result. It is about self-exploration and engaging with the present moment. Through mindfully working with our hands, we open the door to beauty and joy.
